A note from Coaches Trey, Brad, and Preston:

We are deeply committed to our youth climbing team. Climbing develops character and strength that will last a lifetime. On the A-Team, you'll have opportunities for adventure and self exploration that you cannot find in any other arena. If you have the drive and the commitment to learn for yourself, you'll become a strong climber.

Rock climbing is a sport that demands the highest level of personal integrity. Climbers must take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of their teammates. School comes first. Climbers on the A-Team must meet their parents' expectations of school performance at all times. Climbers are expected to exhibit exemplary sportsmanship, humanity, respect for self and others, and discipline. Climbers must participate in team-sponsored volunteer service projects. We expect team climbers to attend every practice because the training builds upon itself throughout the season. Practices missed should be made up with your coach. Climbers age 10 and older are expected to belay their teammates. Parents are expected to belay climbers ages 7 through 9.

Please feel free to contact Coach Trey to discuss the A-Team further, and to schedule an observation for your child.

For more information about what underlies our youth climbing program, please read Coach Trey's article, "Problem Solving in the Vertical World," in the Atlanta Jewish Times. In it, Trey talks more about the positive side-effects of climbing.
