The A-Team is for climbers between the ages of 7 and 17. Our climbers make friendships in a setting that develops character and strength that will last a lifetime. A-Team climbers experience adventure and self exploration found in no other sport.
The A-Team mission is to teach sportsmanship, humanity, respect for self and others, and discipline. Through climbing, our youth will learn life skills that allow them to not only become strong climbers but will enable them to become self-directed in everything they pursue.
A-Team practices consist of instruction in safety, climbing technique, stretching and conditioning, according to a structured and progressive curriculum. Team members are supervised and guided by our experienced and knowledgeable coaching staff. The competitive A-Teams participate in bouldering, climbing, and speed competitions, as well as outdoor climbing events year-round. The recreational climbing club maintains a more relaxed and social atmosphere, in which the exercises are presented as climbing games.
2011 BOULDERING SEASON NEWS
THE A-TEAM (climbs) ROCKS AT REGIONALS!! These kids climb sooo sick! Murdock, Big Z, Squirt, Jake-O, and Little Z all advanced to the Divisional level on their way to NATIONALS in Colorado Springs, CO in March of 2012. Congratulations to all of them, and to Coach Bates, keeping it real fun and real strong in the ATL!
2011 USAC YOUTH NATIONALS
The A-Team's Top Climbers in 2011 were Zach Galla, Ryan Strickland, Mollie Cole, and Kiernan Reising. These four young climbers competed in July 2011 at the USA Climbing National Championship Competition. Zach earned a place on the US Youth National Team in both categories of Sport (Difficulty) and Speed. Congratulations!!
The Golden Toothbrush
The A-Team placed 2nd in the Nation in this year's TeamWorks volunteer service competition (sponsored by the the Access Fund and REI). And, Coach Brad and the entire Adrenaline Climbing community couldn't be prouder. "Winning the Toothbrush is not why we do it," says Coach Brad. Our kids are learning the intrinsic value of volunteering, of giving back to the environment which offers us the incredible gift of climbing. After every cleanup, the A-Team climbers can look behind themselves at the pristine forests and well-maintained trails to which they have contributed, and be proud. Go A-Team!!
